My New Year's resolution for 2009 was to be healthier and lose extra weight I had gained over the past few years. I started seeing a nutritionist earlier this year who helped me improve my diet and help me lose over 6 kilos! I have also seen my overall health improve as well. Losing the weight and improving my diet gave me the motivation to take things to the next level. While I have lost weight I haven't been able to really tone and get that flat stomach I have always wanted. I knew the next step was to get moving but gym memberships can be quite expensive not to mention the time to travel to and from the gym and the extra fees for certain classes. Luckily I found JCW Fitness and have recently started attending the stretch class which I have really enjoyed. The fact that the classes are so near to my home has made it hard to find an excuse not to go and the range of classes offered are also appealing.
I am very excited to start participating in the cardio classes because I feel this will help me tone while losing extra weight and raising my energy levels. My current weight is 63kg but my overall goal is to get this down to 58kg. I know that may take more than a month but if I can continue to lose weight, build muscle and lose the belly I will be so pleased. Seeing and feeling the results are the best ways to movtivate yourself to keep at it! Therefore my goal is to lose around 2 kilos or more and really get into the habit of incorporating exercise into my daily life. As I am also in the process of quitting smoking (I know...horrible habit to have) I really feel that the exercise will also help me stop smoking as well. If all goes according to plan by the end of the year I will have fully reached my goal of being a non-smoking, healthy eating and active person which means I will have fulfilled my New Year's resolution just in time to start 2010 as a new, healthy individual! I would love to be able to visit my family in the states for Christmas and show them the progress I have made.
The picture is of me in a top I really love but hate the way it looks on me...its not very flattering to my mid-region. So hopefully in a month I will have a new pic of me in this top where I feel that I look much better and my stomach looks much smaller!

Angie - good luck with your challenge, I KNOW you are going to impress your family when you rock up this Christmas...!
ReplyDeleteHi Angie,
ReplyDeleteFor strong stomach muscles look no further than Jane's pilates classes.Try and fit a few in if you can. Get to understand how to work the different sets of abdominal muscles - it's really clever and it really works. Very highly recommended - especially combined with all the cardio classes you'll be doing.
I agree - the pilates doesn't shift bofy fat but it DOES strengthen and tone the tummy muscles - together with cardio this would be the perfect programme for you... GOOD LUCK from tomorrow! Jane x
ReplyDeleteHi Angie, found a few minutes whilst on my lunch break at work to wish all the best in your quest to feel good on the inside as well as outside. I've been going to Jane's classes for over 3 years now and love every moment. Keep up the good work
